Clubs, groups, etc.

In the old days, the 1980s and ’90s, when Silver Strand homeowners were completing their houses and moving in, there was extraordinary community spirit. Residents formed all kinds of groups. The Silver Strand Cultural Arts Group went on excursions to interesting places in the Los Angeles area including Descanso Gardens and the  Los Angeles Museum of Art. They went as far afield as Pasadena and Santa Barbara.  There was the Kids Group which met once a month for a community play date, a Wednesday morning Toddler Play Group and a Book Club. There are many possibilities in addition to the above. So if any our readers would like start or join a group,  please submit a comment describing your interest and we will get in touch with you.

  1. We live in a beautiful area ideal for exercising. Would anyone like to join me in a morning walk along the lagoon? Maybe 2 or 3 times a week for an hour. Meet at the White Bridge? All ages, sizes and degrees of physical fitness welcome. I, for example, used to be a walking “Energizer Bunny, ” until too many high kicks in aerobic classes did me in. But now I have my MD’s okay to walk, not bike, not do aerobics, just walk. You can go fast or take it easy, drop in or drop out at any point.
