Weather permitting, NASA is planning a low fly-over (1500 feet) of the Endeavour Space Shuttle on top of a Boeing 747 over Venice prior to its landing at at LAX at 11am on Friday. Endeavour will remain at LAX until the evening of October 13, 2012, when it will travel on surface streets to the California Science Center at Exposition Park. Silver Strand residents should be able to see it from their roofs, providing our usual morning fog has lifted. An even better view will be from Via Marina at the end of the Strand. Because weather plays a role, do check the news for updates on route and time. Endeavour has flown 122,853,151 in space since its first launch in 1992.

First we had Michael Heiser’s Levitated Mass arriving at the the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and now we have Endeavour. Good for L.A., an exciting place to live.

  1. Your blurb is a bit misleading. Endeavor will not parade through the streets to the California Science Center until October.
