NASA has just announced the final Los Angeles schedule for the Endeavour Shuttle flyover. It will land at LAX around 12:45am on Friday, Sept 21, rather than at 11am as previously announced. Their website states that:
Any time after 11:30 a.m., watch for flyovers of Endeavour passing landmarks such as the California Science Center, Columbia Memorial Space Center, Disneyland, The Getty Center, Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles City Hall, the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, Malibu Beach, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Queen Mary, Universal Studios and Venice Beach. Endeavour will land about 12:45 p.m., at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
They do not give the order in which the flyovers of these landmark locations will take place. Planes normally make their approach for landing at LAX from the east. But who knows in this case.
Important: If you happen to be driving on any freeway near the Endeavour route, officials and police urgently advise you not stop or look up. This may be a “once in a life-time experience,” but you don’t want it to be your last.
