The Venice Neighborhood Council will hold its Board election on October 28. All residents of the Silver Strand are stakeholders. The VNC is one of the most active and powerful neighborhood councils in Los Angeles. It provides a direct liaison between residents and Los Angeles governing agencies. It deals with issues which affect us all, whether it be seeking to moderate Los Angeles County’s development of Marina del Rey in terms of its impact on adjacent neighborhoods, saving historic structures, crime, parking and problems with the homeless.
The 2012 Board Election will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 10am-4pm at the Westminster Elementary School in Venice. The address is 1010 Abbot Kinney Boulevard (at Westminster). Bring your ID to verify your eligibility to vote. Even though your postal address is Marina del Rey, the Silver Strand is, in every other way, including voting jurisdictions, in Venice. So your driver’s license or a utility bill, etc. showing an address in the Silver Strand is sufficient.
There will be curbside voting available on Westminster near the parking entrance.
