The next Silver Strand Art Group art tour will be to the historic Adamson House and Malibu Lagoon Museum on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. The home is sited on part of what was the 17,000 acre Frederick Hastings Rindge cattle and grain ranch which included 20 miles of coastline. The home was built by his daughter Rhoda Rindge Adamson and her husband Merrit Adamson in 1929 and includes most of the original furnishings. Following the death of her husband in 1949, Mrs. Adamson lived there until her death in 1962. The State of California purchased the property in 1968. It was declared a California Historical Landmark in 1985.
