Extraordinary number of Pelicans flying over the Silver Strand today

Beginning this with a huge group this morning and ending with another one late this afternoon, an enormous number of pelicans could be seen flying in clusters over the Silver Strand.  I didn’t have my camera, but what a sight! I would estimate at least 200 of them, flying in majestic and graceful formation between Marina del Rey harbor and the Ballona Lagoon. I’ve been a resident for 5 years and walking the harbor and the Lagoon for much longer and never seen anything like this. It’s possible that the fish die-off in A Basin may have been a contributing factor. Did anyone else catch a glimpse?

Hundreds haave been flying over the jetty since last mid week, have been seeing when walking dogs in am. Also on Sat am there was a school of dolphins, counted 6 in the middle of all the activity. I have been in the area since 75 and have not seen such activity for so many days. They were here this morning as well
