Several residents of the Silver Strand have complained about homeowners leaving their trash bins out on the Mall courts all week. It is unsightly and makes it difficult for who live opposite them to back their cars out of their garages. It presents a hazard for emergency vehicles accessing your home and others in our neighborhood. Finally, it is against the law. Please obey the law and put your trash bins back in your garage or remove them to the side areas of your home on Monday after trash collection has been completed. If you need to file a complaint, call 311.
This is what the law requires:
The City of Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation services four automated containers: black (for household refuse), blue (for recyclables), green (for yard trimmings) and brown (for horse manure) containers. Containers must be placed at the curb by 6:00a.m. on the day of collection (in the Silver Strand that means Sunday night or early Monday morning), and removed no later than 8:00p.m. on the day of collection (that also means Monday). If you have any questions concerning your City issued containers or would like to inquire about our other services, please call us at 1-800-773-2489.
